Messy Faith
This summer, we are exploring the Book of Psalms in a series called "Messy Faith." Like the rest of our lives, our faith can sometimes be messy (perhaps often!). God has given us this beautiful book of prayers to teach us how to express and live out our faith during the messiest seasons: anger, hurt, doubt, grief, betrayal, revenge, etc. Biblical scholar and theologian Ellen Davis writes that the Psalms "enable us to bring into our conversation with God feelings and thoughts most of us think we need to get rid of before God will be interested in hearing from us." Join us this summer as we embrace the mess, using Psalms as our guide to bring our whole, unfiltered selves before God.Toxic
Relationships can bring both the greatest blessings in our lives and our most intense challenges.
Whether it is with family, friends, coworkers, or a random person in the grocery store, figuring out how to name and address toxic behaviors can be exhausting and confusing because they come in so many shapes and sizes: gossip, lying, pride, blame, resentment, over-spiritualizing, guilt-tripping, personalizing…just to name a few.
This is a six week series focused from a Biblical perspective on how to identify and handle some of these toxic behaviors and not embody them ourselves.
