This summer, we are forming an intergenerational mission team to explore ways High School students and adults can serve together in mission. The team will consist of approximately 15 High School students, 6-7 adults, and 2 team leaders. This is a Next Level trip for our students, and they each will have participated in a prior international mission trip. The adults on the team will not have roles as leaders or chaperones - they are team participants alongside students, serving together.
MPC Senior Pastor Andrew Stepp is good friends with the founder of Africa Renewal Ministries, Peter Kasirivu. In November, Pastor Peter came and spoke in both MPC worship services, which can be viewed on our website. They regularly host mission teams and are experienced in arranging accommodations, meals, and meaningful ministry. You can get more information about Africa Renewal at https://africarenewal.org/.
Our hope for this team is to expand understanding of mission and God's work in the world. We want to challenge team members to take deeper steps in faith and world engagement. Africa Renewal is Ugandan founded and led, we will be coming alongside their work to learn and serve within their many ministry areas.
Adults for this team will be selected through an application process and background checked if chosen. We will also be asking them to follow student ministry policies.
This trip will include ten days in Uganda, including a two-day safari at the end of our time there.
